Choosing a CASE Degree | College of Agricultural Science & Education Courses

Choosing a CASE Degree | College of Agricultural Science & Education Courses

While scores apply to the University of Technology or the University of The West Indies from all walks of life, to study business, nursing or computer sciences and the list goes on. It dawned on me that both these institutions are located in the same region, Kingston.

Many people study at these institutions because they are household names, but almost never use the degrees they earn after studying. It got me thinking that there must be options for our youth outside of the “corporate area” that offers quality education without having to make that trek into Kingston.

Experiencing CASE

My journey to the luscious parish of Portland recently led me to The College of Agriculture, Science, and Education (CASE). I decided to stop in and find out a bit about this college as the name caught my interest. I left feeling very impressed by the positive feedback from both students and staff that I had the opportunity to engage with. There was an overall electric vibe that flowed through its cool and tranquil environs.

The College of Agriculture, Science, and Education was formally established in 1995 with the merging of The College of Agriculture and The Passley Gardens Teachers College (PGTC) creating opportunities for Growth.

The institution's curriculum offers training in education, agriculture, management sciences, and natural sciences. May I dare say; a wonderful opportunity for individuals to embark on a successful career.

The College is geared towards the development of efficient, skilled and highly competent graduates with a desire to respond to the challenges of nation-building. They are committed to the task of producing graduates who are ready to assume leadership roles in Agriculture, Science, Education and allied disciplines globally.

CASE offers a wide range of studies for both Jamaican and Non-Jamaican Nationals. Exceptional students can become extraordinary people by seeking to enrich their College experience holistically. They are able to achieve this by participating in clubs, and societies, as well as sporting activities, offered.

The campus offers housing accommodation to students with the atmosphere and feel of being at home. The residence life offers students the chance to develop their independence while discovering and being part of an active, multi-cultured community.
