How to Earn Pocket Money in College

Want to earn some extra money in college? Read on to find out how.

Do Extra Chores for Extra Pocket Money

With most parents, pocket money is less of a wage, and more of a price to pay for the things you do around the house. If this is true with your parents as well, consider taking up a few extra chores…for a little extra pocket money. If this is not the case with your parents, consider doing chores for others for a price. From walking the dogs to buying groceries to even getting someone’s car washed, there’s plenty of chores that people can do, but simply don’t have enough time to get done by themselves. This is where you come in and make your money…!

Take Up Gardening and Pool Cleaning In the Summer

Like we mentioned above, the world is filled with busy people who have no time to get all their work done by themselves. If you happen to know someone who owns a poor or a big garden, and this happens to be summertime, then chances are that they are looking for someone to clean their pool or get their garden in order. Both these jobs don’t require a lot of training, though prior knowledge is always advised when it comes to handling harsh chemicals that are required for deep cleaning a pool. Also, take into mind that both these jobs are time-consuming and tiresome; so it will not be all that fun.

Work For Companies That Will Pay You to Shop from Them

If you are looking to make a bit of money without having to spend a lot of time or effort, then product/place reviewing might be right for you. This is especially true if you like shopping or trying out new places. Most companies have free offers and are even willing to pay you a small amount if you purchase a product pretending to be a regular customer, and review that product, and sometimes, even the salesperson selling that object. You would most probably have to return the product if it happens to be expensive (like electronics) but if you get lucky, you might even get to keep the product…and get paid! Seek out secret shopper companies for this.

Do A Little Freelance Writing and Editing

If you are confident in your writing skills, or grammar, then consider doing a little freelance writing or reading in your free time. Proofreading, editing, content writing, blog content, personalized poetry and even greeting card messages all require someone to write them¾and you might just be the right person for it. If you like travelling, or do a lot of travelling, you can even consider being your local newspaper’s travel writer.

Sell Your Craft Projects Online

Do you do craft projects online? It could be anything from crocheting to jewellery making, to even handmade furniture. If you’re proud of your skill and feel your craft projects have the standard to sell, consider selling it online. There are many platforms online reserved largely for selling handmade goods of every kind…
